Have you accidently spilled red wine on your carpet? Are you always in a morning rush and the unintentional spillover of coffee occurs? Afternoon finger printing with your children get a little out of hand at times while playing arts and crafts in the living room floor? Did man’s best friend leave a “present” for you that you weren't hoping to receive? This is everyday life for most.
Spots and stains on your carpet can be a frustrating and at times troublesome incident. It can leave your floors looking dirty and if not taken care of in time or in the proper manner; it can have long term effects on the condition of your carpet. The longer you let a stain sit on your carpet floor, the more likely it is to get embedded deeper into the fiber of your carpet, thus damaging your floor and causing you to not only have it treated for damage, but removed, repaired or even restored. Spot and stain treatment should always be an urgent priority once the accident occurs. If it’s a severe stain such as red wine, juice, or coffee, we highly suggest you blot the spot with cold water and a towel, never rub, and call upon a professional carpet cleaner to take care of the rest. Use a white towel or plain white paper towels to blot, working from the outside edge of the stain toward the center. This method prevents stains from spreading. For solid spills, use a spoon or dull knife to remove any material that hasn't soaked into the carpet. You have a higher chance of taking care of the problem immediately with a certified technician, then trying to take care of the job yourself. Many home-owners feel they can completely remove a stain using over the counter products. While this theory seems to hold great with water, it has the reverse effect on wine and other protein stains involving dye or food coloring. Attempting to remove these stains will essentially “set” the stain making it very difficult, if not impossible for even the most experienced carpet technician to remove. Without the proper care, preparation, chemicals, or equipment, you can end up damaging your carpet even more, causing it more harm than good. Encapsulation has a low impact on the environment.
Uses much less water: A single gallon can clean 300 square feet of carpet. Typically, Hot Water Extraction leaves a gallon over the same square footage! No waste water is discharged: Vacuuming of dry soil recovers the encapsulated soil. No gas engine or carbon monoxide: Encapsulation equipment runs on a single 15 amp electric circuit. No loud noises for 2 hours for your neighbors to hear The product used is certified by the EPA as safe for the environment. Well its February and I thought we might have a chance to get through this year without a big winter storm, then BAM! Schools are closed and the salt has been thrown down. Now, the salt melt is in your carpet. There are things you can do to help remove the dried salt from the carpet, but it is best to have your carpet extracted by a professional like North Raleigh Carpet Care. You may want to wait until we are out of the winter blues, so in the meantime, take a look at these tips!
Helping your carpet last against salt residue:
When you buy new carpet, an added bonus is the protectant that the manufacturer adds to the fibers of the carpet. This is what helps liquid spills to stay on top of the carpet, giving you time to soak them up before they actually seep in. It is like waxing a car, the water beads.
Unfortunatly, it will wear down over time, and become less able to do its job. So can it be replaced? The answer is yes! After a year or so, it is reccomended to add this "scothguard" like substance back on the fibers. North Raleigh Carpet Care can apply this solution back to your carpet, which will help extend its life. It does go on wet, and will need to dry, so a good time to apply it is right after a cleaning. Our upgraded cleaning plan includes up to 900 sf of carpet cleaning, plus an application of protectant all for 149.00. (addtional fee for steps) Call us and ask for the upgraded cleaning plan, to get your carpets cleaned and protected today! Take a look at how small this carpet fiber is. It is also shown enlarged through an electron microscope. This, in reality, is what we are cleaning when we come to clean your carpets. After Using our counter rotating brush machine, and then a vacuum, most of the dry soil should be removed. So what I am really trying to clean is the dirt, mostly oily dirt, that has stuck to the fiber, or colors that have introduced itself into the open dye sites of the fiber.
To accomplish this, one must use a solution to suspend the soil, some agitation to release this spoil, and then some way to remove the soil. There are different methods that accomplish this, and different solutions that work on different fiber types and different types of soil. Call North Raleigh Carpet Care to get these carpet fibers cleaned using our controlled moisture method. On occasion, I visit carpet cleaning blogs (Yeah, I know) mainly to keep track of trends and potential new environmentally safe cleaning solutions and methods. We also help each other as a free consulting communication type forum. Its a good deal for all really. I am always surprised when these men share the amount of water they go through when cleaning carpets using the HWE method of carpet cleaning.
One gentlemen reported on the forum that he had just cleaned a 3 room house with hall and living room, and had to replace his 13 gallon water tank 7 to 8 times. This means he used about one hundred gallons or more of water. Now, it is impossible to vacuum up all the 100 gallons of water and solution he sprayed into the carpet. At even a 95% recapture rate, there would be 5 gallons of water that was left in the carpets to dry. Thats a gallon of water a room! My low moisture system cleans carpet fibers and would use less solution that this gentlemens system leaves behind after he is done. I will say again, there will always be a need for HWE, but if your carpets are not nasty yukky, it can be cleaned without using it, and thats the way to go. Call North Raleigh Carpet Care, my low moisture system cleans carpets without using 100 plus gallons of water. (Remember, urine removal is a specialized service, and will always require HWE along with other steps) I see this term all over. Companies saying they clean carpets deep down. I have been involved with over 22 million dollars of commercial flooring installations, and I have yet to see anything that I could describe as deep. Don't worry about the spin, just understand that a clean carpet is a clean carpet, and there are different methods to clean carpet, all having good points and bad. So what is someone to do if they need their carpets cleaned? Call North Raleigh Carpet Care and trust me to give sound advise of which method you should use to get your carpets clean. No Worries!
Oh My Goodness. Untrustworthy folks are all over trying to scam you out of your money. In the carpet cleaning industry, the vast majority of us are hard working honest folks, but, as in most industries, there is some that should not be trusted. I know Auto dealers get a bad rap, but I just saw a TV show from a car dealer in Durham, whose name rhymes with the word "worst", and they are the worst at the mice-type game.
They have a 30 minute TV show that features dancing mice, the GM or owner walking around making ridicules comments and carrying a cane that he does not even need, and doing other wacky things while showing cars to the viewers. They say, no money down and 149.00 a month, on a specific late model low mileage car they were showing. Sounds good huh? Well, pause the DVR, and squint to read the fine print, "Payment 1-3 are 149.00 a month, payments 4-72 are 499.00 a month." Close to criminal in my opinion. You need to beware of these crooks in every business out there. How can you avoid the bait and switch crooks in carpet cleaning? Hire North Raleigh Carpet Care the dry carpet cleaning experts! Up front reasonable pricing with the best guarantee in the Raleigh dry carpet cleaning market. If you don't like it you do not pay. There is a rumor on the street that a lot of carpet cleaners do not Pre-Vacuum the carpets before they begin their "Wet" process. Not only is this a bad idea, there is no one in the industry that approves avoiding this important step.
North Raleigh Carpet Care pre-vacuums every job! Not only do we pre-vacuum, we also use a duel action counter rotating brush machine (CRB) before we vacuum that digs deep down to remove sand, grit, and pet hair that no vacuum can touch. After we use the CRB, then we vacuum, which is a 2 step process that insures most all of the hard soil is removed from the carpet before we begin our dry cleaning low moisture process. Now lets assume everyone pre-vacuums, then what type of vacuum are they using? My company uses a 2 motor vacuum, one for suction and the other to power the beater bar. I also use new bags on every job, and these bags do an incredable job at filtering the air so the dirt does not return into the air. It filters to a max of 3 microns, (The eye of a needle is about 1200 microns) which ensures that pet dander, allergens, and other microscopic organisms stay in the vacuum where they belong, and are not recirculated back into the air, and then back on the carpet. Call North Raleigh Carpet Care to clean your carpets using limited water, so the carpet dries quick with zero sticky residue left. I guarantee you will be pleased! |
